2007-2008 Season Kickoff

Jodi Applegate, anchor of Fox 5’s Good Day New York and an Emmy-award winning broadcast journalist, kicked off our 2007-2008 season in style with an evening of conversations and cocktails. More than 50 members and guests enjoyed drinks and hors d’oeuvres in CBS Studio 19, catching up on the summer and networking with new faces.

Ms. Applegate shared some of the secrets to her success as a television anchor and host. After describing the sometimes dizzying journey of her career, she opened the floor to questions from the audience, engaging guests on topics of work-life balance, relationships, the news industry and offering behind-the-scenes anecdotes from Good Day New York.

During this special event, members also celebrated the 2007 Audrey Tanzer Scholarship winner, Erica Emmich, a Broadcasting Major at Montclair State University in NJ. Erica received a $1,000 check and several shadowing opportunities for the fall semester.
